MEASLES EPIDEMIC
FURTHER CASES IN CAMP WW&r----48 SOLDIERS IN HOSPITAL RETENTION OF WEST SCHOOL Two further cases of measles among the troops at the isolation camp at the Te Rapa racecourse developed today, and they were admitted to the Hamilton West School emergency hospital. There are now 48 soldier-patients in the hospital with measles. Questioned at the meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board in Hamilton today, the superintendent of the Waikato Hospital, Dr. H. L. Gould, replied to a member that the school was proving very suitable for the hospital treatment of soldiers. It was not possible for him to say when the school could be handed back to the educational authorities, but there appeared little likelihood of that step being possible before the Christmas school vacation.
