Sept. 9 The correspondent of the British United Press at Batavia states that the Japanese delegation arriving on Thursday will find the Dutch East Indies on a virtual war footing. Bomb shelters have been constructed and other air raid precautions organised. Volunteer forces which are being trained under martial law include anti-parachute units. Great public satisfaction has been expressed at the arrival of a shipment of Curtiss fighters from the United States.
