BOMBS ON GUN POSITIONS SHELLING OF DOVER AREA BRITISH COUNTER-ATTACK (United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 10 The Royal Air Force hammered German gun emplacements on the French coast, and the concussion of bombs falling on gun positions shook the ground on the British side of the Channel. It was one of the most violent raids against the Channel ports now held by Germany. The German long-range batteries resumed the shelling of the Dover area early this morning (Tuesday). The British guns immediately retaliated, returning salvo for salvo. Five people were killed in the shelling of Dover last night.
