PERSONAL
The Hon. R. Semple, Minister ot National Service, accompanied by Mr R. R. Sinel, organiser of the Home Guard, today inspected the military camps at Hopu Hopu, Te Rapa and Claudelands. He will leave this evening for Te Kuiti.
The Rt. Rev. C. A. Cherrington, Bishop of Waikato, conferred with clergy of the Taranaki Archdeaconry at Okato, where the visitors were entertained at tea by the guild and at supper by men of the parish. The bishop returned to New Plymouth, where he confirmed three candidates at St. Mary’s.
Dr. George Walker, the well-known Whangarei Jersey breeder, is in Hamilton.
Mr H. J. Lancaster, of Palmerston North, is in Hamilton for the National Jersey Show and Sale.
Mr C. E. Robertson, stud stock manager of Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., Wellington, is in Hamilton.
Messrs E. Wanhill, R. M. Black (Auckland), D. Mclnnis, V. Mcln-nis (Hikurangi), G. Walker, O. R. Morgan (Whangarei) and E. Dobson (Palmerston North) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
The Hon. Vincent Ward, M.L.C., has been appointed honorary secretary of the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council, in place of Mr E. M. Bardsley, who resigned recently. Mr Ward was appointed last month to the National Patriotic Council.
