MAINE ELECTION RETURNS REPUBLICANS IN LEAD (United Press Asn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) NEW YORK, Sept. 10 A message from Portland, Maine, ■ays the Republicans are leading the Democrats by at least two to one in all the five major election contests. In a statement at Washington, the Republican Party chairman said the Maine election returns definitely herald the end of the Roosevelt administration. He said they indicate the election of Mr Wendell Wilkie as President in November and a Republican majority in the House of Representatives.
