SERGEANT-GUNNER MISSING

(By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Tuesday Sergeant-Gunner James Bracegirdle, who has been serving with the Royal New Zealand Air Force in England, has been reported missing. He is the son of Mr A. Bricegirdle, of Parnell. His elder brother, Captain Owen Bracegirdle, is with the Army Service Corps with the first echelon in Egypt, and Corporal Jack Bracegirdle went overseas with the second echelon as a member of the Anti-Tank Corps. DEATH ON SERVICE SECOND ECHELON PRIVATE (By Telegraph.--Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday The death of Private Alexander Lindsay Meikle, a member of the Expeditionary Force in England, is officially reported today. Mrs E. Horwell, of Timaru, is his sister. SAPPER’S DEATH REPORTED MEMBER OF FORESTRY UNIT (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday Advice has been received in New Zealand of the death on active service in England of Sapper Oswald J. Jans, a member of the Forestry Detachment of the second echelon. Sapper Jans, who was single, aged 47, served for three years in the Great War. For the last 10 years he had lived in the King Country. DANGEROUSLY ILL MAORI BATTALION MAN (By Telegraph.—special to Times* GISBORNE, Tuesday Advice that their son, Private J. P. R. Kingi, a member of the Maori Battalion serving abroad, is dangerously ill as a result of an accident, has been received by Mr and Mrs J. Kingi, of Waihirere. Mr Kingi was himself a member of the Maori Pioneer Battalion during the last war and suffered the loss of a leg while on active service.
