PURCHASE OF AIRCRAFT DONATIONS FROM COLONIES (United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 8 The latest contributions toward the purchase of aircraft announced by the Minister of Aircraft Production, Lord Beaverbrook, includes one of £IO,OOO from the people of Trinidad. The Malaya Patriotic Fund marked the anniversary of the outbreak of war by remitting a further £20,000, making a total for the year of £220,000. The gift has been divided between the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, the Y.M.C.A. and the Dominion Forces.
The first instalment of £240,000 from the proceeds of special taxation in the Straits Settlements is being transmitted to the Imperial Government for the prosecution of the war.
