SCHOLARSHIP FUND
ACCOUNTANTS’ INSTITUTE (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Tuesday The third holder of the travelling scholarship awarded every other year by the Incorporated Institute of Accountants, Mr N. H. Chapman, of Christchurch, had secured a position with Messrs Price, Waterhouse and Company, a leading London firm of chartered accountants, it was stated at the annual meeting of the institute in Wellington. The travelling scholarship is granted every other year and is of the value of £l7O per annum, tenable for two years. It was decided that for the duration of the war it would be inadvisable to make any further awards. However, the amount of the scholarship would be placed to a scholarship fund each year, to be used to grant scholarships after the war. A subcommittee was set up to submit proposals for the granting of Expeditionary Force scholarships to members of the institute serving overseas —such scholarships to be taken up at the end of the war. The new council elected Mr H. H. Henderson (Dunedin) president for the ensuing year, and Mr T. Auton (Christchurch) vice-president.
