MORRINSVILLE PARTY

COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATED A most enjoyable party was held in the Masonic Hall, Morrinsville, on Saturday night, when Mr and Mrs H. A. Munro entertained over 100 guests to celebrate the coming-of-age of their daughter, Wynne. The hall was decorated with masses of greenery and bowls of spring flowers. Items given during the evening were:—Songs, Miss E. Scott, Air Drumm; national dancing, Valerie Trotter; elocution, Air B. Moriaty. Alusic for dancing was supplied by Air W. Glasscock’s Orchestra.

A novel feature of the evening occurred at supper time when the Morrinsville Caledonian Band piped in the cake which was cut by the guest of the evening. Father O’Doherty proposed the toast of Miss Munro and Mr R. Cochrane suitably responded. Aliss Wynne was then presented with the traditional key. The guest of honour wore a gown of white taffeta with tomato-coloured relief. Mrs Alunro was wearing a frock of black georgette, metal embossed, and Airs Kieley, senior, grandmother of Miss Munro, wore black crepe-de-chine. Among those present were:—Mesdames N.
