Public Notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Central Waikato Electric-Power Board to be held at the Board’s Offices, Anglesea Street, Hamilton, on Wednesday, 11th day of September, 1940, there will be considered for confirmation a resolution passed by way of Special Order at a meeting of the Board on WEDNESDAY, 14th day of August, 1940, as follows: “ That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Electric-Power Boards’ Act, 1925, and the Finance Act (No. 2), 1936, and any other act and amendments thereof, The Central Waikato Elec-tric-Power Board hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows: ‘‘That the Board hereby authorises the raising of a Special Loan of £25,000 for the purposes of further reticulation within the Central Waikato Electric-Power District, with the exception of:— “ (a) That portion of the County of Raglan included in the Central Waikato Electric-Power District by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette on December 21, 1938, at page 2813, as amended and altered by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette on' July 27, 1939, at page 2042; “ (b) That portion of the County of Raglan included in the Central Waikato Electric-Power District by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette on June 22, 1939, at page 1848. “ That the term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be twenty-five (25) years. “ That the rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding Four pounds (£4) per centum per annum. “ That the security for the payment of interest and the repayment of principal of the said loan will be a rate of one-ninth of a penny (l-9d) in the £ oi* the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) on all rateable property in the area aforesaid. “ That the said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over the term as determined above. “ That payment of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money.”
No money shall be borrowed pursuant to the above resolution if, before the date fixed for "the confirmation of the resolution, not less than 5 per centum of the total ratepayers whose names are inserted on the Rate-payers’ Rolls of the several constituent districts within the said electric-power district, by writing under their hands, delivered or sent by post to the Offices of the Board aforesaid, demand that a poll be taken on the proposal.
