CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS (United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) NEW YORK, Sept. 9 In the semi-final of the women’s championship, Miss Alice Marble beat Miss Scott, 6— 3, 6—3. Riggs defeated Schroeder, 6—l, 2—6, 6—3, 6—4, and Hunt beat Kovacs, 6—4, 6—l, 6—4. Riggs entered the finals by beating Hunt, 4—6, 6—3, 5—7, 6—3, 6—4. In the other semi-final McNeill defeated Kramer, 6 —l, 5 —7, 6—4, (j —4. The United States Lawn Tennis Association has reinstated G. Mako and L. Sabin, to be effective from December 1. Both were suspended early in 1940 when they violated a playing rule.
