FIERCE AIR BATTLE RAIDS IN LONDON LONDON, Sept. 6 The sirens sounded in London for the fifth time. Hundreds of raiders, attempting to fly up the Thames, caused London's fourth warning today, but the tide of bombers and flghters broke on the rock of Royal Air Force resistance. The biggest battle which Thamos-siders have so far witnessed broke out. Five Germans went down in ten seconds. The raid came when offices were closing, repeating the inconvenience of the morning, which coincided with the rush hour to the city, and at midday, coinciding with lunch. The Berlin radio stated that raiders today bombed an air factory at Weybridge, hitting four workshops and ten planes, and also damaged the Kenly aerodrome. RAIDS ON GERMANY OIL INSTALLATIONS ATTACKED LONDON, Sept. 6 Large mineral oil installations at Hamburg were attacked during the night and five big fires started. Continuing their attacks on military objectives concealed in German forests, Royal Air Force bombers again visited tho Black Forest near the Swi3s frontier and the mountains to tho south of Berlin. Night attacks by modium bombors in the Pas de Calais region wero mainly directed against Boulogne Harbour and long-range gun emplacements at Cap Gris Nez. The harbour installations at Calais were also attacked shortly before dawn on Friday, and bombs were dropped during tho night on seaplane bases at Texel and Nordenev and concentration barges at Delfzijl, which were located by the light of parachute flares.
