BUNTING—BIRD SLIPPER SATIN GOWN A quiet wedding was solemnised at the Baptist Church, London Street, Hamilton, on the afternoon of July 13, between Patricia, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. I. Bird, Hamilton, and Edward John, only son of the late Mr and Mrs E. J. Bunting, late of Wanganui. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. C. Reay. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a graceful, slim-fitting gown of cream slipper satin cut on princess lines. The skirt, which was fully, flared, formed a slight train and a separate train fell from the waist. The bodice, which was cut with a heart-shaped neck was gathered on the shoulders and finished down the front with cream buttons. The sleeves, which were gathered at the shoulder line, tapered to points. Her beautiful tulle veil, appliqued with satin, was worn with a halo of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of freesias, azaleas and maidenhair fern, The Attendants In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Joan Tuck, who wore a charming frock of hyacinth blue satin with an overdress of net in the same shade. She wore a posy of hyacinth blue velvet in her hair and carried a posy of golden freesias. Little Laura Clayton, the flowergirl, wore a frock of satin and net in shades of pink. Her posy was of stock and daphne. After the ceremony, the reception was held at the home of the bride’s ! parents in Rostrevor Street. The I guests were received by the bride’s mother, who was wearing a smart grey tailored costume, a navy felt ihat and a fur stole. When Mr and Mrs Bunting left by car for their honeymoon, the 1 bride wore a periwinkle blue wool georgette frock with navy accessories. j WATSON—PARTRIDGE I GOWN IN MAGNOLIA SATIN A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Huntly, on Saturday evening, August 10, between Miss Eileen Mary Part*ridge, youngest daughter of Mrs W. C. Davies, of Huntly, and the late Mr E. Partridge, and Mr William Russell Watson, of Kimihia, elder son of Mrs E. Watson, of Kimihia, and the late Mr C. F. Watson. The Rev. J. C. A. Zimmerman officiated at the ceremony, and the wedding music was played by Miss B. C. Hoqsley. The church was beautifully decorated with jonquils and greenery.
The bride, who was given away by her step-father, Mr W. C. Davies, wore a beautiful frock of magnolia embossed satin, fashioned on slimfitting lines. The bodice, designed with a V-neckline, featured full bishop sleeves caught into a band at the wrist, and the front was finished with small buttons from neck to waist. The graceful skirt, which was inset with a small sunray pleated panel at the front, fell into a long oval train. Her veil of magnolia tulle, which was worn over the face, was arranged from a top-knot of matching flowers, and fell to form a second train, and she carried an ivory prayer book. The Bridesmaid In attendance on the bride as bridesmaid, was her step-sister, Miss Gwen Davies, of Auckland, who wore a charming frock of clover pink taffeta, fashioned with a tight-fitting bodice, large puffed sleeves, and a very full skirt finished with a bustle bow at the back. The Vshaped neckline was finished with a diamante clip. A top-knot of clover flowers, with a tulle veil, was worn, and she carried a bouquet of pink and cream anemones and stock. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Arthur Partridge, brother of the bride, as best man. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother, where the tables were beautifully arranged with Icelandpoppies and daffodils. Mrs Davies wore a navy frock relieved with gold, a musquash fur coat, and accessories to match. When Mr and Mrs W. R. Watson left on their honeymoon, the bride wore a grey costume and halo hat of grey felt, with cyclamen accessories. Their home is at Kimihia.
