PETER PAN’S LETTER

J)EAR GIRLS AND B 01 r S, And now the Holiday Ship is lying quiet and deserted off the Shores of the Happy Schooldays and most of its jolly cargo has scampered away to tell their adventures to their little friends. Overhead the skies arc still blue for a few moments and then along comes the rain clouds and down falls the silvery rain once more. Truly this is the proper Spring weather, for with the rain comes the loveliest of fragrances and darlingest of white lambs are frisking everywhere with tiny red and white calves peacefully grazing beside their mothers. Peter’s room is filled with laughter at the present time for the Sunshine Girl has been telling Peter and the Wendy Person the jolliest tales about the mischief which those rascals, Jennifer Joan ar.d Anthony Alan, have been getting into. Sunny said that Uncle Andy scolded them at least four times a day but it didn’t seem to make much difference to those naughty sprites. Some-one, who is growing more sedate and wise-looking every day, has just opened a pair of very sleepy eyes and he is looking at Peter in a very reproachful way, for Peter has awakened him from a lovely sleep in the warm sunshine which is streaming through the open window and on to the table. The Twins feel quite, quite sure that when everyone else is fast asleep, Some-one goes to the Fairies’ Spring Revels, for he is always very tired and does nothing else but lie in the sun and sleep all day long, w’aking only when he is hungry. Any-one and No-one have been holding very special singing competitions in the early mornings too and each day Peter is awakened to a duet of “The Spring Song,” whistled in the pets’ very best manner. And such a lovely picture Any-one is looking too, for his coat is like a golden blossom from the w 7 attle tree and every now 7 and then he pauses to ruffle his feathers until they are just like a ball of soft down. And now 7 just a little garden new 7 s, for Peter has found his very first spray of cherry blossom out, with its pure white petals just faintly tipped with pink and it is surrounded by lots and lots of baby buds w T aiting for a little more sunshine before they, too, open their petals to a world of blue and gold. So happy sun smiles, with hopes for Spring skies and lots of love. From yours, Waiting-for-another-full-day-of-golden-sunshine, *
