WOMEN’S DIVISION

HAMILTON BRANCH The next monthly meeting of the Hamilton Branch of the Wo- ' men’s Division of the Farmers’ Union j will be held in the Y.M.C.A. room on Tuesday, September 10, at 11.45 • a ,m. A floral demonstration will |be given by Mrs Cox. An urgent ! message has been received from the Dominion president and all members are requested to attend. NGARUA BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Ngarua branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the local hall, recently, when Mrs W. Scott president, presided. As a result of much sickness in the district the attendance was not as large as usual. Mrs J. Thomlinson acted as secretary in the absence of Mrs F. Rene. It was decided that the branch assist with the Women’s Division aeroplane fund, and also help in the usual way with the leper fund. Mrs P. Davis read the report of the Piako executive’s quarterly meeting. A competition for men’s socks was won by Mrs C. Walker, with Mrs A. Sealey second, and Mrs J. Lamb third. The competition for the next meeting will be for the best homemade tartlets. A pleasant meeting closed with afternoon tea served by the hostesses, Mrs H. Pikett and Misses A. King
