WORK RESUMED
IDLE COAL MINERS UNION OFFICIALS’ VISIT TALK WITH MANAGERS (Special to Time.) HUNTLY, Friday The miners at the MacDonald Coal Mine resumed work this morning after the mine had been idle for three days as the result of a dispute over “wet time" payments to one man. The decision to resume work was reached after the secretary of the Northern Miners’ Union, Mr T. Hall had addressed the men. About 200 miners had been affected. A strong recommendation that the men should resume work today was passed at a meeting of the executive of the Northern Miners’ Union, held yesterday.' After the meeting yesterday Mr Hall, visited Glen Afton, where he interviewed the superintendent of the mine, Mr P. Hunter. The dispute was fully discussed in the presence of the managers of the Glen Afton and MacDonald mines. The MacDonald mine was visited this morning by the president of the union, Mr J. D. Garrick, and Mr Hall, and the resolution carried by the union executive placed before the men.
