DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES TITLE RETAINED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The spectators in the Town Hall at Wellington last night witnessed some brilliant play when the finals of the New Zealand Centennial table tennis championships were decided. R. A. Algie, Otago, retained the men’s singles championship. He and his brother, A. R. Algie, retained the men’s doubles title. The results were:— Men’s Singles.—R. A. Algie beat E. Boniface (Wellington), 21—13, 21—8, 21—17. Women’s Singles.—Mrs M. G. Valk (Hutt Valley) beat Mrs H. D. Kennedy (Wellington), 21—18, 13—21, 21—13. Men’s Doubles.—R. A. Algie and A. R. Algie (Otago) beat E. Boniface and G. Smith (Wellington), 21 —18, 21—13, 21—19. Women's Doubles.—Mrs H. D. Kennedy and Miss D. Croxton (Wellington) beat Miss M. Wareham and Miss M. Jonnstcn (Wellington), 21—9, 21—16. Combined Doubles.—M. Gosling and Miss D. Croxton (Wellington) beat J. Croudis and Miss B. Strang (Hutt Valley). 17—21. 21—18, 22—20. Boy's Singles.—M. Friend (Otago) beat L. R. Muirson (Canterbury), 21—19, 21 Girl’s Singles.—Miss R. Rea (Wellington beat Miss J. Strang (Wellington), 21—16, 21—15.
