NATIONALIST HONOURED PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday General acknowledgement of the work done for the National Party by the retiring president, Mr C. H. Weston, and Mrs Weston, was expressed at an afternoon party given Iby the Dominion Council of the I party at the National Club yesterday. ! Both the senior and junior organii sations were represented. Mr A. Gordon, of Hamilton, Do- ! minion president, who succeeds Mr Weston, made the presentation of a | mahogany writing desk, suitably inscribed. His remarks were supported by the Leader of the Opposition, the j Hon. Adam Hamilton, who also paid ; tribute to Mr Gordon himself as a capable and energetic young man to take up the standard and continue the inspiration Mr Weston hrfl given the party. Loyally To Leader The council passed a resolution placing on record full recognition and appreciation of the fine qualities of leadership displayed by Mr Hamilton in the negotiations which resulted in the formation of the National War Cabinet. and assuring i him of the loyal support of all members of the New Zealand National Party.
