MOSLEM OFFER

FUTURE OF INDIA DESIRE FOR DIVISION HELP IN WAR EFFORT (United Pre-ss Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 4 According to the Bombay correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain, the Indian Moslem leader, Mr Jinnah, said in an interview:— “Moslems will unanimously sacrifice everything to the persecution of the war if Britain immediately promises India’s 90,000,000 Moslems that she will support a division of India into two States— Moslem and Hindu—after the war. “The majority of the Moslems live in the north-western and eastern zones. Let us have these zones. The Hindus can have the remainder. Thus we could be good neighbours, each governing according to his own traditions and culture.

“Congress is threatening civil war instead of accepting this practical solution.

“Even if Britain is not inclined to support the partition scheme now she could win Moslem support by negotiating with the Moslem League as partner*—not as master to servant.”
