LORD NUFFLIED’S ACTION £250,000 FOR AIRMEN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Sept. 5, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 4 Lord Nuffield has handed a cheque for £250,000 to the chairman of the council of the Royal Air Force as a benevolent fund with which is to be found a fund to be known as the Nuffield Endowment. The money is to be invested and the interest applied to the relief of all forms of distress, amongst the dedependents of Royal Air Force personnel killed or incapacitated as the results of wounds received in action.

The United States National Defence Advisory Commission issued a statement saying that American military aeroplane production was 1000 a month. It will be 2000 in January and 3000 late in 1941.
