EMERGENCY PRECAUTIONS ORGANISATION COMPLETE (Special to Times ) N GAR UAWAHTA, Wed nesday. A well-attended and enthusiastic meetin? at Ngaruawahia, presided over by the Mayor, Mr R Eyre, tlnalised the emergency precautions by setting up the committees to deal with various branches oF the work. The plan presented to the Borough Council by Messrs F. Jackson and C. McGowan was adopted. Mr G. r. d. Jackson was appointed chairman of the executive and controller. The following- committees have been appointed:—Executive.—The Mayor and councilors, town clerk, postmaster, sta;tiomnaster, Messrs A. S. Sutherland, A. G. Thompson, K. M. Wright. Medical, Nursing and Public Health.—'Dr. D. P. Martin, Dr. 0. B. Isdale, Red Cross Society, nursing trainees; with a ro-op-erating Public Health Committee comprising Messrs R. M. McFarlane, A. Galbraith, A. O. Weld and W. M. Paterson. Fire, Law and Order.—Members of the Ngaruawahia Volunteer Fire Brigade with the assistance or six or eight extra suitable men including an electric fault-man and nominees of the local rowing and football clubs. The committee will cooperate with the local police, and arrangements are left in the hands of the Fire Brigade superintendent. Transport.—Messrs G. F. D. Jackson, D. Norman, S. Norman, G. Ronke, J. Scott, T. Wallbank. T. A. Clayton, A. G. Dawson and J. s. Johnston. 'Supplies.—Messrs F. I. Ilickllng, A. S. Sutherland, A. F. Small, R. P. Knight, W. J. Park (water), and M. Carter (records). Accommodation and Evaluation.—Mr H. D. Sampson, Rev. R. P. Stede, president or the Women’s institute (Mrs Loughrran), president of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union (Mrs K. Duxfleld). Patrols, Guards and stretcher-bearers.— Members of the Ngaruawahia Returned Soldiers’ Association. Communicaitions and Messengers.—Mr T. Paterson, Revs. Raine and Tolley (representing Boy Scouts), postmaster and staff, Mr R. L. Knighton, and further nominees of the Ngaruawahia Returned Soldiers’ Association as despatch riders. Construction and Demolition.—-Messrs F. D. .Mills, a. Thompson, J. He rush il-wood, A Hancock, 1.. Hyde, 0. Mcißurnev, a. 11. Cameron, J. Birkett and p. O’Connor.
