ATTEMPTED MURDER

MAORI COMMITTED FOR TRIAL * (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) KAIKOHE, Wednesday A Maori, Mango Kato Pera, aged 55, was charged in the Kaikohe Court today with attempted murder, attempted suicide and indecent assault. On the assault charge Pera was discharged and on the other two charges he was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. He pleaded not guilty. A girl of 20 gave evidence that a gun was pointed at her sister, aged 18, and she heard a shot fired. Accused’s sister also deposed to the firing of the shot.
