DANGER OF INVASION
MR EDEN’S WARNING GOOD TO STAND ALONE (Official Wireless) (Received Sept. 4, 1 p.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 3 Mr Anthony Eden, Secretary of State for War, in a speech said:— “It would be foolish to suppose that the danger of invasion has passed. There is not a shred of evidence that Hitler has abandoned his intention to subdue Britain by invasion. “August in many respects was the best month of fighting in the year. Our position in some ways is the most enviable in our history. There are times when it is good to stand alone, especially when you know that you are not going to stand alone forever.”
