CLAIMS BY GERMANY GREAT DAMAGE IN ENGLAND (United Pre«3 Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Sept. 3. 3.15 p.m.) BERLIN, Sept. 2 A communique states: Our bombers and fighters yesterday continued their attacks on Royal Air Force plant in England, including hangars and billets on the aerodromes at Abingdon, Hendon, Kenley. Bigginhill. Detling, Lympne and Hawkinge, which were ali hit and partly set on fire. Various air battles developed, in which our squadrons again proved their superiority. Points at Liverpool, Swansea, Bristol and Chatham were bombed successfully during the night. Enemy planes last night again attempted to attack Berlin and other towns, but were unable to drop bombs within Greater Berlin. The only damage elsewhere was to residential buildings. The enemy yesterday lost 62 planes. Nine of ours are missing. U-boats in the North Sea sank two British destroyers.
