DESTRUCTION ON CONTINENT SUBMARINE BASE ATTACKED MILITARY OBJECTIVES BOMBED (omclal Wireless) (Received September 3, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, September 2 An Air Force communique states: Yesterday Royal Air Force bombers attacked enemy aerodromes at Ypenburge and Schipol. Last night our bombers tarried out extensive operations over Germany, Italy, Holland and France. In Germany aircraft factories at Munich and Stuttgart, oil plants at Hanover, Ludwigshaven and Norden. ham, munition factories at Leipzig and Eitterfeid. shipping at Emden, a power station at Kassel, goods yards at Soest and Mannheim, and many enemy aerodromes were among the targets attacked. In Italy a new aircraft factory in Turin and the Marelli Magneto works at Sesto San Giovanni were bombed successfully. Aircraft of the Coastal Command last night attacked the enemy submarine and E-boat base at Loriett, on the west coast of France. From these cpciaticns all our aizw craft returned safely except oi.e, which crashed on landing.
