DAMAGE TO PROPERTY CRUSHING PLANT INVADED UNUSUALLY HIGH TIDE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Tuesday A combination of rough seas and an exceptionally high tide caused encroachment by the sea at North Beach, Cobden, during the night, resulting In hundreds of pounds’ damage to property. The water invaded three homes to a depth of several feet. The owners suffered loss of furniture and furnishings. Two poultry-keepers lost a big percentage of their fowls. At a North Beach metal company's crusher the seas wrecked a double garage, invaded the machinery and swept away stocks of crushed metal. The road along the beach is impassable for three-quarters of a mile, being covered with debris. The sea* were still encroaching at high water this morning. Similar encroachment was experienced at South Beach, where there was minor damage to the road skirting the aerodrome.
