WEDDING

PRESTIDGE—SCOTT BRIDE IN MAGNOLIA SATIN A pretty wedding was celebrated last week in St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Te Aroha, when Muriel Catherine, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Scott, Shaftesbury, was married to Albert Francis, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Prestidge, of Eltham. Canon C. W. Turner officiated, and Mrs W. Burt presided at the organ. The church had been decorated with spring flowers by friends of the bride. Entering the church with her father, the bride was charmingly attired in magnolia satin cut on simple lines with a heart-shaped neckline, finished with buttons down the back, and a train. A beautiful embroidered veil fell gracefully to form a second train, and she carried a shower bouquet of spring flowers. Bridesmaids in Blue and Pink In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Ethel Scott, cousin of the bride, of Morrinsville, and Miss Irene Bair-

stow, who were dressed in pale blue satin and pale pink georgette respectively, the •frocks being cut on similar lines. Both wore veils with topknots of flowers, and carried bouquets to tone with their frocks. The flowergirls were Esme Scott, sister of the bride, and Val Scott, cousin of the bride, each wearing shell pink georgette designed with shirred bodices, frills on the skirt, puff sleeves and sashes to form bustle bows. Wreaths of pink flowers and silver leaves were worn on their heads, and they carried posies of spring flowers in pink shades with streamers. Mr K. Prestidge, brother of the bridegroom, of Katikati, was best man, while Mr Donald Scott, brother of the bride, was groomsman. The Reception After the ceremony a reception was held in the Masonic Hall, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a teal blue angora cloth costume, a matching hat of felt and a fur stole. She carried a bouquet of blue hyacinths and freesias to tone. The bridegroom’s mother was dressed in a rust suit, | hat to match and fur stole. She carj ried a bouquet of golden hyacinths ! to tone. Also present at the breaki fast were Mrs E. Loughlm, sister of i the bride, who wore a moss green I suit, hat to match and fur stole, and i Mrs F. Wright, grandmother of the I bridegroom, who wore a navy cosI tume and hat. When Mr and Mrs Prestidge left I for their honeymoon the bride was . wearing a clover suit, hat and accessories to tone.
