CANADA AND UNITED STATES INCREASE IN RESPONSIBILITIES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlgnt) OTTAWA, Sept. 2 The Prime Minister, Mr Mackenzie King, in a broadcast speech, said the Joint Defence Board represented an increase, not a decrease, in Canada’s responsibilities. Canada and the United States had undertaken to share the burdens of maintaining their joint security—neither had shifted the burden on to the other. “Reciprocity in defence involves respcns ibilit Fythuy fday. .T reciprocal advantages,” said the Prime Minister. “Canada has gladly accepted both.”
