BEAULIVRE BEATS READING FLYING KNIGHT’S SUCCESS (United Press assn.—Elec. Tel. copyright) SYDNEY, Sept. 1 In the first important spring meeting, the Warwick Farm races, held at Randwick yesterday, the large crowd witnessed a thrilling duel between Beaulivre and Reading in the Warwick Stakes, in which Beau Yite also took part. The superior condition of Beaulivre enabled him to beat Reading by half a length in 1.245, which time compares favourably with the record for Australia and New Zealand, 1.23. Actually, yesterday’s race, with the false rail in use, was seven furlongs 22$ yards. Beau Yite ran in fourth position throughout and finished strongly. Reading was having hi* first race since the autumn and lie enhanced his chances for the Metropolitan Handicap, for which lie is favourite, as is Beaulivre for the Epsom Handicap. Beaupartir and Nightbeam were both beaten out or a place in Hie Glenlee Handicap. won in hollow fashion by the New Zealand-bred mare Snow Queen.
