SUCCESSES AT EPSOM

MOLLIE DIRECT—TINKER STABLE WINS THE DOUBLE DAY OF BIG DIVIDENDS The success of the Te Rapa trainer, M. Stewart, who besides taking the winning double with Mollie Direct and Tinker, also saluted the judge with Mitaya, was one of the features of the Auckland Trotting Club's August programme at Alexandra Park, Epsom, on Saturday. Several surprises were recorded, Winning Post being at odds of over two score, Bedford paying over score and Glen Bingen returning close on a score when he won narrowly from Vain Lad. Kaipaki Bill, who galloped past the post in the opening event, was paying close on a century straight-out, but he was placed second by the stewards and his supporters had some compensation in a handsome double-figure place return. The weather was showery and the going heavy after recent rain. Following are the concluding results:— GREY LYNN HANDICAP Of 1i 25; limit. 3.*38; 1* miles. O—9—WINNING POST. Mr L. J. Cloverdale, who had won earlier in i-he day, made a determined bid to repeat his achievement, only to go under in the last little bit to an outsider in Winning Post, whose return on the win machine was over two score.
