THE LATEST RETURNS DISCOUNT RATE UNCHANGED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, August 29 The latest Bank of England returns are:— Issue department: Notes in circulation, £610,000,000, note.s in the banking department £20,200,000, other Government securities £615,700,000, other securities £2,800,000, silver coin £500,000. Banking department: Rest £3,500,000, public deposits £8,900,000, bankers’ deposits £118,700,000, other accounts £51,800,000, Government securities £148,000,000, discounts and advances £3,900,000, other securities £24,600,000, notes and coin £20,900GOO. Ratio reserves to liabilities, 11.64. The Bank of England discount rate remains unchanged at 2 per cent.
