WEDDING

BRUCE—PEAKE CREAM CHIFFON GOWN A charming wedding was solemnised at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Hamilton, on the morning of Saturday, July 20, when Eleanor Winifred Bertha, elder daughter of Mrs L. Peake, of Kereone, Morrinsville, was married to John William Donald, elder son of Mr and Mrs G. S. Bruce, Campbell Road, Walton. The Rev. Father Ryan was the officiating minister. The bride, who entered the church with Mr W. Luxton, wore a lovely gown of cream chiffon cut on slender lines, the skirt falling softly to form a slight train. The softly ruched bodice was fashioned with a heartshaped neckline and long tight-fit-ting sleeves, very full at the shoulders and tapering to points over the hands. Her beautiful ivory tulle veil was held to the head with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a sheaf of cyclamen, sweetpeas and carnations. Matron-Of-Honour’s Frock In attendance as matron-of-honour was the bride’s sister, Mrs D. C. Hart, who was wearing a frock of pink chiffon fashioned with a fitting bodice and fully puffed sleeves. The very full skirt fell to form a slight train and she. carried a posy of pink sweetpeas, carnations, arranged with maidenhair fern. Mr E. Brooks was the best men. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Centreway Rooms which had been artistically decorated with Iceland poppies. Mrs Peake received her guests wearing a black costume, a black hat and black accessories. Her shoulder spray was composed of anemones and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom’s mother was wearing a navy pin-striped costume with a navy hat and accessories and a shoulder spray of freesias and maidenhair fern.
