RED CROSS FUND
TOTAL REACHES £2,896,000 VALUE OF SCRAP IRON (Olilclal Wireless) (Received August 30, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, August 29 Last night the Red Cross Fund total stood at £2,896,000. Today a cheque for £2500 was paid over to the Red Cross Agricultural Fund as the result of the first sales of iron and steel scrap collected by the village dump scheme. Voluntary organisers have assembled 8000 dumps of scrap iron and steel all over the country in the past 2i months.
