AIR FORCE TRAINEES
TWO WAIKATO RIGGERS Two Waikato candidates for the Royal New Zealand Air Force have been instructed to report as flight riggers to the Harewood Station for elementary training courses, pending posting to technical instruction schools. They are V. O. Lucas, of Frankton Junction, and J. M. Robinson, of Putaruru. THIRD ECHELON TEMPORARY PROMOTIONS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The Gazette to-night contains a number of appointments to and promotions in the third echelon of the Expeditionary Force, with effect in most cases from August 1. All promotions are temporary. The list includes the following:— Second Divisional Cavalry Regiment Reinforcements.—Lieutenant R. R. Atkinson to captain. Headquarters, Expeditionary Force Base. —Lieutenant H. E. Crosse from the 14th Forestry Company to captain. Twenty-seventh (Machine-gun) Battalion Reinforcements.—Lieutenant W. R. Ross to captain. New Zealand Dental Corps.—Lieutenants D. A. Greenslade, B. M. Dallas, C. C. Cook to captains. Eighteenth Army Troops Company, New Zealand Expeditionary Force.—Lieutenant A. J. Learmonth to captain. CANTEEN FUNDS BOARD (By Telegraph. —Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The Gazette announces the appointment of Mr Arthur Telford Donnelly, C.M.G., to the Expeditionary Force Canteen and Regimental Funds Trust Board (Great War), replacing the late Colonel A. E. Stewart.
