Mrs I. O. Thomson has returned to Hamilton from a short visit to Auckland.

Mrs J. McMaster, Hamilton, will spend the week-end in Auckland.

Mrs Don Shaw, who has been staying with Mrs N. Cuffe, Hamilton, has returned to Te Rore.

Mrs D. Torrie and her daughter, Marlene, who have been visiting Auckland and Hamilton, have left for their home in Gisborne.

The fortnightly meeting of the St. John Voluntary Emergency Corps was held on Wednesday in the Ambulance Rooms, Ward Street. The lecturer for the evening was Mr F. Mitchell, who gave a very interesting address on air raid precautions, members of the Corps being given an opportunity to examine two or three different types of gasmasks. Mr Mitchell, who was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, expressed his willingness to give further lectures on the sao&e subject. It was decided to devote the next meeting to competitive bandaging.
