ITALIAN CLAIMS
LITTLE DAMAGE CAUSED OIL CENTRE BOMBED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Aug. 29, 11 a.m.) ROME, Aug. 28 A communique states: British planes, coming as usual across Switzerland last night, raided Piedmont and Lombardy. A few bombs fell on Michelino, in the Turin Province, where a farmhouse was set on fire. We again violently bombed the oil centre at Haifa last night, hitting the railway station, and a new oil refinery, starting large fires everywhere. All our planes returned. Large numbers of the enemy raided Derna. A small Italian ship, carrying timber, was hit elsewhere, sustaining some damage. Two people were killed and five wounded. The enemy hit a hospital at Harar and a local garrison hospital at Dessye, where eight people were killed and 29 wounded; also a prison at Massawa, where there were no casualties. One British plane was shot down.
