FRANKTON QUOTATIONS Newton King, Ltd., report that at their Frankton sale on Tuesday, their offering comprised an extremely large yarding of store and station cattle, which met with steady competition, selling on a par with recent rates. Best fat Polled Angus cows sold to £lO 10s; lighter, £8 to £9 10s; best fat Jersey cows, to £7 ss; others, £6 to £6 15s. In the sheep section a large yarding sold at reduced rates. Prime fat wethers, 37s to 37s 9d; others, 35s 9d to 36s 6d; best fat ewes, 27s to 28s 9d; others, 25s 6d to 26s 3d; best fat hoggets, to 28s; others, 25s 6d to 27s In the store cattle section the special entry of 120 2-year Polled Angus steers sold to £7 4s; others, £6 15s to £6 18s; smaller cattle, £6* to £6 8s; two-year Polled Angus heifers sold from £5 to £5 3s: two-year Hereford heifers, £5 to £5 ss. Top quality yearling Jersey heifers realised £6 18s; smaller, £5. Pigs: A small entry of fat pigs sold at recent values, while a large yarding of store and weaner pigs again met a keen market and values for both sections showed little alteration. Heavy baconers, £4 to £4 ss; lighter baconers, £3 10s to £3 18s; i heavy porkers and buttermilk pigs, £2 18s to £3 ss; lighter porkers, £2 8s to £2 15s; large stores, £2 2s to £2 ss; slips, 35s to £2; weaners, 20s 6d to 2os 6cL
