HAMILTON HARRIERS
SWEENEY CUP HANDICAPS SATURDAY’S ROAD RACE The Hamilton Harrier Club will conduct the Sweeney Cup Handicap, over an out-and-home course of five miles, starting at the Knox Presbyterian Church, Hamilton East, at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday. The entrants include several outstanding performers, including Irwin (Waikato cross country champion), French (topranking Aucklander), Chitty (who ran a fine race for second place at Te Kuiti in the Waikato cross country championship), De la Mare (wellknown ’Varsity athlete), and three first-grade juniors in Cranston, Richardson and Saunders. Handicaps are as follows: L. D. Irwin, R. F. French, scr; P. A. de la Mare, K. Chitty, 30s; C. Rotheram, 1m 10s; G. Garvey, C. Hill, R. Gardner, lm 30s; M. Cranston, R. Richardson, N. Saunders, lm 40s; R. H. Dent, A. D. Crabb, A. Gardner, R. B. Joyes, 2m 40s; N. Dawson, I. Adams, J. Garrett. D. Miller, 3m; G. Wood, D. H. Mead, A. G. Bloore, C. Martin, K. Watson, 4m; F.
