RAILWAY FIRE
LOCOMOTIVE STAFF SUFFERS RECORDS DESTROYED (By Teleg-rapii.—Special to Times) TAIHAPE, Wednesday A railway building containing the office of the assistant locomotive foreman at Taihape and a locker room used by the locomotive staff was considerably damaged by fire last night. The fire brigade arrived to find the building blazing and the battle with the flames lasted over an hour. The building was reduced to a shell. There were 50 or 60 lockers in the locker room and the contents, coats, hats, overcoats, overalls, gumboots, suitcases and other personal effects, were destroyed. Records in the assistant locomotive foreman’s office and in the locker room were among the things burned.
