Copyright) (Received August 21, 3.15 p.m.) CANBERRA, Aug. 21 The Prime Minister announced today that the Federal elections for the j Senate and the House of Representa- . fives will be held on September 21. I Nominations will close on Septem- 1 ber 7. i The House of Representatives will j dissolve not later than next Monday. Complete arrangements have been made to enable the Australian oversea troops to record their votes. The election campaign will be one of the shortest on record, and is mostly Confined to newspapers and the radio, although the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, hopes to cover as much of Australia as possible. The former Premier of New South Wales, Mr Stevens, announced that he intends to contest the Lang suburban seat, which at present is represented by a Labourite. (The Lang seat is no way connected with Mr J. T. Lang.)
