EMPIRE DAIRIES’ APPRECIATION PURCHASE OF SPITFIRE NEW ZEALAND SQUADRON (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 21. 3.15 p.m.) LONDON. Aug. 20 Empire Dairies. Limited, has presented Lord Beaverbrook with a cheque for £SOOO to buy a Spitfire, in appreciation of the “glorious action of the Royal Air Force.” Lord Beaverbrook acknowledged the gift with the deepest gratitude. He said he would endeavour to have the machine alloted to the Australian or New Zealand squadron.
