CONTACT ADVISED
DOMINION AND AMERICA MINISTER SHOULD BE SENT PROFESSOR’S SUGGESTION New Zealand would be well feivised to send a Minister to Wa.ihlngton to represent the Dominion in the United States of America in the opinion of Professor L. M. Lipson, Professor of Political Science and Public Administration at Victoria University College, Wellington, who gave an address on American politics in Hamilton last night. He considered Australia had been wise in sending Ministers to the United States and Japan. Professor Lipson said the Australian Minister in America, Mr Casey, appeared to be doing excellent work. He considered the Commonwealth had also been wise in deciding to send a Minister to Tokio to establish direct diplomatic relations with Japan. “I think New Zealand should establish contact with the United States of America,” said Professor Lipson. “I consider we would bo well advised to send a Minister to Washington to assist Mr Casey and also to make our own position felt. If that were done I am sure the United States would reoiprocate by sending a representative to the Dominion, as it has to Australia.” NOT BEEN CONSIDERED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday “The matter has not been considered by the New Zealand Government,” said the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, when asked tonight if New Zealand were likely to adopt a similar course to Australia and appoint a Minister to Tokio.
