NEW WAR LOAN
DEFENCE OF CANADA OVER 250,000,000 DOLLARS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. copyrlg-bt) OTTAWA, August 18 The Canadian Minister of Finance, Mr J. L. Ilsley, announced that a second war loan of between 250,000,000 and 300,000,000 dollars would be issued. It was expected that the terms would be announced on October 6. Simultaneously, holders of 44 per cent bonds maturing on October 1 would be permitted to exchange them for bonds of the new issue. The exchanged bonds would not be included in the 300,000,000 dollars, which would all be new money.
