SATURDAY’S FOOTBALL DRAW BN SEMI-FINAL v (Special to Times) MORRINSVILLE, Monday. The semi-final of the Morrinsville senior grade Rugby competition was played at the Recreation Grounds on Saturday between Kereone and Terriers. A fast and open game resulted in a draw, 6-6. Drabble scored for Kereone and Savage kicked a penalty goal for Terriers. Swan and Thompson scored tries, neither or which was converted. Terriers are at the top of the ladder and should win the competition this year. The junior and third grade competitions have been closed. United winning the Junior grade and Terriers the third grade. BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY At the monthly meeting of the iMorrinsville Beautifying Society, held In the Municipal Chambers, it was decided to ask the Borough Council to bear part of the cost or protecting- fences placed round the trees planted in the borough. The society has availed itself of several offers of trees anil shrubs, a number of which have been collected, and provision Is to be made Tor a nursery to care for the plants. Kauri trees and palms have been planted near the path in the Centennial Walk, and rurther planting will be done, shortlv. l aburnum tree; are to be planted on both sides of Thames Street.
