PRICE INCREASE
WHAKATANE PAPER MILLS (By Telegrapli.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday i In June last the Price Tribunal is- • sued a price order fixing the maxi- ■ mum prices at which Whakatane • Paper Mills was permitted to sell . the board products manufactured by | the company. Necessarily a factor taken into consideration when fixing ' these prices was the ruling cost of : raw material, and it was not intended ! that the prices should remain fixed | indefinitely. j It has now been established that the cost of imported material used | in some of the products has been inI creased, warranting a revision of j prices, and accordingly a new price ’ | order has been issued. The prices ; j now fixed vary in but a slight de- ! gree from the old prices, and in some •; instances the prices have actually , ! been reduced. In those cases where ' the increase is shown, such increase , | represents nothing more than the nd- | ditionai cost incurred in manufacture.
