APOLOGY FROM ITALY

MISTAKEN FOR BRITISH DEMAND FOR NOTIFICATION (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright). LONDON, August 17 The Italian naval attache has since called on the Greek Prime Minister, General Metaxas, and apologised for the bombing of the destroyers, explaining that they were mistaken for British vessels.

In tendering this apology Italy has demanded notification of the movements of Greek ships in order to prevent future misunderstandings. It is understood that Greece has agreed to this point.
