INSPECTION OF TRAWLERS

MANNED BY NEW ZEALANDERS MR JORDAN'S COMPLIMENTS (United Press Assn.—mec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, August 17 The High Commissioner for New Zealand, Mr W. J. Jordan, inspected seven minesweeping trawlers, officered and manned by New Zealanders, at a southern port. The officers and men all arrived from the Dominion recently and are now on active service. Mr Jordan clambered over all the trawlers and warmly complimented the men on their smart appearance. He met many British officers who served on the New Zealand Station, including Rear-Admiral F. Burges Watson.

Mr Jordan also spoke to a rating recovering from appendicitis and promised to send through Lady Dunbar-Nasmith clothes sent to England from New Zealand patriotic societies.
