MORE BOMBS DROPPED
ENGLAND AND WALES RAIDER SHOT DOWN FALLS INTO THE SEA (Official Wireless) (Received August 19, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, August 18 An Air Ministry and Ministry of Home Security communique states: During last night enemy aircraft dropped bombs in several districts in England and Wales, causing some damage to buildings and dwellings. The number of casualties wa. small. Early this morning a Royal Air Force fighter engaged one enemy bomber and shot it down into the sea off the east coast. An unconfirmed report at 1 p.m. stated that a German bomber was brought down at a London suburban golf course.
