HOPU HOPU “AT HOME”
BIG CROWD OF VISITORS The Hopu Hopu mobilisation camp was thionged with visitors yesterday when the troops of the special units of the Railway Group of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force were “at home.” Thousands of people took the opportunity of seeing specialist troops in their camp. Special trains were run from Hamilton and Frankton and also from Auckland. Nearly all the visitors showed particular interest in being shown around the camp by troops, but one of the biggest attractions was a football match played between the representative team of the railway units an da fiifteen representing the Waikato Mounted Rifles, who encamped on Friday at Hopu Hopu. The railway team won by 8 points to 5.
