PRICES FOR PRODUCE COMPARATIVE FIGURES Referring at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company to the f.o.b. price paid for butter to dairy companies, Mr W. Goodfellow quoted the* following comparative figures:—l93940, 15.015 d; 1938-39, 15.015 d; 193738, 13.785 d; 1936-37, 12.6875 d. In 1913-14 the price was 12.2365 d. The New Zealand Government sale to the British Government equalled 112 s 3d a cwt. f.o.b. New Zealand in sterling, or 139 s 8d a cwt. f.o.b. New Zealand currency. Mr Goodfellow explained that current values, i.e., Is sterling f.0.b., were id per lb less than the prices received in 1913-14, because New Zealand currency was then equal to sterling As far as cheese was concerned, New Ze I’rnd factories had been paid 79s 9d a vt in 1939-40, 78s lid a cwt in 1838-39, 72s 2d a cwt in 193733, and 66s lOcl a cwt in 1936-37.
